My goodness, I can’t believe it’s been a couple of weeks since my last blog update – where have the days gone? At least the people following our Facebook page have been keeping up to date with things, and I’ll do a few blogs in the coming weeks to record all of the wonderful progress that has been made in the world of Crafty Volunteers. There is so much going on that I keep forgetting that we haven’t even been going for 2 months yet…
I’m very excited about the get together that we are having in Wellington this Friday night, and very much looking forward to the wonderful people that will be coming to join our knitting and sewing bee for baby cardigans and cot blankets. We will be donating what is brought along, and made on the night, to Wellington Hospital and an amazing group called Little Sprouts (more on them next week…).
Our event details are:
Date/time: Friday 8th of May – starting at 7pm, til about 9 or 9.30pm
Venue: Karori Arts and Crafts Centre, Beauchamp St, Karori (plenty of parking available)
Bring: your sewing machine or knitting/crochet needles, and your yarn/fabric to make your item/s. There are plenty of tables and comfy chairs to cater for all.
Please also bring any other items you’ve made, as our Wellington and Hutt Regional Coordinators will be collecting items to distribute to our causes.
We can’t wait to see how many people show up, and to get to know some more charitable crafters.
Please feel free to bring any crafty friends along – the more the merrier!!
Thank you all for your interest in this project – it’s humming along, and the feedback we are getting is amazing.
See you on Friday (Wellington/Hutt people)
Yours – with Love, Compassion and Hope
Maggie
