It’s been a few days since I’ve written a blog post, I guess that’s what happens when the project takes off, and one gets side tracked with all the fabulous people enquiring about what we are up to. I’m so very grateful for the amazingly positive response we have had to this project, and also very humbled by the kind offers that are coming from all around the country.
I just wanted to let you know what we are up to at present…
We have had several people put their hand up to be Regional Coordinators, and we are still looking to make connections with other areas. The Coordinators will be keen to have supportive people on their committees, so if you have an interest in being involved on the ground floor of this project, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and let us know your contact details. I’ve got some communication to get out to our fabulous Coordinators in the coming week, and then we’ll be able to introduce them to you all.
We are very aware that at this stage Facebook is our main communication tool, and we are very conscious that many crafters may not be Facebook people, so we will be building an email subscription database, so we can connect with everybody on a Regional level. That way, requests and contributions (supply and demand) will be managed by the locals for the locals, however we will still have a far wider reach if we need to.
In the coming weeks, we hope to be able to hold events in some regions, when we can all bring our knitting/crochet or sewing machines, and spend a couple of hours getting to know each other, and doing some guilt free crafting. Watch this space for info on our events.
We also plan to keep bringing Crafter Profiles and Product Profiles to you all, by way of this blog, because I’m sure there are products being made in some areas that other areas don’t know about. And I’m sure that are some truly amazing and generous people out there that I know I’d love to get to know better.
Thank you all so very much for your support, as we start this journey (with our training wheels on). I hope that you are as excited as I am about the potential reach that this project has.
Yours – with love, compassion and hope
